Air Asia X has made this idea easier for many people by launching new daily services between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur.
This will bring direct weekly flights between Malaysia and Australia to 87 and more routes are being planned in the future.
Tourism Australia has welcomed the news by the low cost airline as providing the chance to welcome new visitors to Australia.
"We foresee a future positive outcome of both greater visitor numbers and new consumers visiting Australia, through this new service," commented Andrew McEvoy, managing director of Tourism Australia.
Holidays to Sydney do not just have to include a trip to the opera or visit to Sydney Harbour Bridge. Visitors can soak up Australia's history at the Rocks Markets and wander through native bush land on Manly.
